DIY: Paper Beads

DIY: I’ll show you how to make paper beads. The possibilities with paper beads in crafts and making jewelry are endless! It looks so easy,but when you are beginner is not…. In the start the beads won’t be perfect but as long as you make your measurements as precise as possible, it will be better beads. Making paper beads is a great way to recycle junk mail, newspapers, or magazines. Paper beads are additionally inexpensive, attractive, and can be used in a multitude of projects. To either make beads from pre-designed paper or to design your own, simply follow these instructions

How to make Paper Beads:

DIY: Paper Beads

You will need:

  • Glue (it is important to be transparent when dry)
  • Some decorative paper (should be a thinner paper) or you can like me to take some old newspapers (illustrated press)
  • Toothpicks
  • Transparent nail polish (I chose one with glitter)
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Pencil


Select the format you want and DIY…..

DIY: Paper BeadsDraw paper beads on paper (Figure 1) and cut them (Figure 2).

Apply glue, but very careful not apply to the lower part of the paper where you put a toothpick (Figure 1). Place a toothpick to the part that you have not put glue and folded it over her. (Figure 2). Start rolling it tightly around the toothpick. Using your nails to catch it in at first. Ensure to keep the paper central. (Figure 3).

When you roll (Figure 1), your beads are finished (Figure 2), at the end put varnish (you can use transparent nail polish) and let it dry (Figure 3).

Make into jewellery: earrings, pendants, necklaces… You can add other beads and charms, hooks and wires. I leave it to you imagination. I make a bracelet in combination with glass beads and paper beads.
